FATE SESSIONS at SECAC/MACAA in Richmond
October 20–23, 2010, the Southeastern College Art Conference and the Mid-America College Art Association will be in Richmond, Virginia to host a conference called Curiouser. This exciting event will be hosted by Virginia Commonwealth University and will be held at the historic Jefferson Hotel in downtown Richmond.
As usual, FATE (which is an affiliate organization of both SECAC and MACAA) will be conducting an "open session" at the annual conference. This SECAC/MACAA session will be chaired by Greg Skaggs of Troy University. Below are the presenters:

Special ThinkTank Forum Offered at FATE Biennial
FATE and MACAA are excited to announce a special forum preceding the 2011 FATE Biennial. This special intensive will be provided by Integrative Teaching International (ITI). ITI is well known in FATE circles as the sponsors of the annual ThinkTank intensives which have been held at the University of Georgia the past two years.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
1. Current MFA candidates in studio art and design, or recent MFA degree recipients with at least one semester of Foundations teaching experience.
2. Current Ph.D. candidates, or recent Ph.D. degree recipients, with at least one semester of teaching experience in art theory, educational theory, or contemporary art practice.
3. Foundations coordinators, with up to five years of Foundations leadership experience.

Anthony Fontana has also offered to curate a FATE virtual exhibition in Second Life. The exhibition will be hosted at the Bowling Green State University Virtual Campus in Second Life. Begin here to upload images of your students' work and Anthony will install the virtual show. This is a good chance for you to learn the buzz around the virtual world of Second Life. FATE
in Review is seeking articles and reviews that
address the relevant concerns of determining and teaching
the core curriculum for the foundations in art (first
year) program. These may include studio art, design,
art history, theory and criticism. In addition, we
are also seeking book and video reviews for publication.
Submitted articles and reviews may not have been previously
published.
Reviews
of submissions are ongoing. However, June 1 of each
year is the publication's deadline. Contact: Kevin
